Summary of the Executive Board’s meeting 19/2021

Notifications matters:
- Hasselström has had a meeting with Heidi’s Bier Bar and they are interested in having an event with the Student Union regarding “Company of the Week” and potentially also an excursion to their office in Denmark
- Lindvall informs that Hanken has entered an intense phase regarding the transition from Weboodi to Sisu, and that the survey about what the studies at Hanken should look like after the pandemic has closed, the results are being analyzed and will be delivered to Hanken as soon as possible
- Nilsson informs that the relation between SHS and KSO are on top
The following matters were addressed at the meeting:
In connection with the celebration of vappen and the adornation of the Havis Amanda statue, which was arranged by SHS this year, the song “Ta mig till Casa”, produced by the Vappen team and external producers, was released.
Three written complaints, sent to info@shs.fi, have been received and answered by the Board. One complaint has been presented to the Board verbally and SESS has presented its opinion to SHS..
During the meeting of the Board 18/2021, the Board decided to bring the matter to the Student Council meeting 5/2021. During the meeting of the Student Council the matter was discussed and based on the discussion the President of the Executive Board decided to convene a meeting with the Board to discuss actions and decide on a revision of the song.
During the meeting of the Executive Board, the background to the matter was presented, thorough discussion and arguments for revising the song were carried out and problems regarding the way the issue got to the knowledge of the Board was mentioned. Furthermore, it was discussed what the Board can do so that similar problems are not repeated in the future.
After discussion and voting, the Board decided that the song “Ta mig till Casa” shall be revised, since a sentence in the song has raised strong reactions among Student Union members.
