Greetings from our Chairman!

Hi Hankeit,
Hopefully you are feeling good despite the circumstances!
We at SHS have taken actions in order to counteract the spread of the Covid-19 virus. We are closely following the instructions given by the Finnish government. Hanken has taken all education online and we, the SHS Executive Board, have decided to close our Student Union facilities and cancel all our events at least until the 13th of April. The Student Union’s counteractive measures will adapt itself in accordance to how the situation develops over time.
I’m very sad that so many events and social happenings have been cancelled for this spring, and I am aware that I’m not the only one feeling this way. I understand the disappointment and frustration of every event host and participant. But in this situation, every SHS members’ health comes first.
Unfortunately, I do not know when we will be able to arrange the next event or when we will be able to hang out on the couches at Kåren. But there is one thing I know for certain; we will get through this together.
We have worked hard with the board, our student union actives and other active members to create alternative ways of getting the community feeling at SHS, even though we cannot be physically together. You should have received an invitation to the Virtual SHS, which is on the platform Microsoft Teams, so check your Hanken inbox. Virtual SHS is a platform where SHS members can get together, chat and have virtual meetings.
Today, it is of great importance that we stick together. We need to help each other through these exceptional times. Take care of each other! Call a friend you haven’t talked to in a while or offer someone in quarantine assistance with grocery shopping. I’m confident that we can overcome any problem that this situation brings to us by working together!
Wishing you the best,

Fanny Hindsberg
SHS Chairman of the Board
