Alma Property Partners is looking for a keen and driven Investment Associate to their office in Helsinki. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing Nordic real estate private equity investor and be a key contributor to all investments from early negotiations to closing, throughout the ownership phase and until exit. 

The Associate’s main responsibility will be to evaluate and pursue new investment opportunities and create value in the existing investments. To achieve this, you strive to understand the overall market sentiment and leverage that to identify new investment themes, value drivers and business cases. Alma has three funds (see below*) of which the newest, Fund III, has recently had its final close and is now actively investing, making it the primary focus of your work. In practice, your tasks involve managing internal and external relationships, market research, financial modeling, due diligence and the preparation of investment materials, among other activities. The Associate will be working in close cooperation with the partner responsible for the investments in Finland and the full Nordic investment team. As part of a close-knit working community, you’ll get in-depth insight into the whole investment process, from acquiring and developing assets to the disposal process.

The ideal candidate for this position has a genuine interest in financial markets, real estate and private equity investing, coupled with an eagerness to also invest in the company’s Funds. You have a positive entrepreneurial “can-do attitude” with initiative to independently seek a profound understanding of investments and to resolve issues and problems. Moreover, possessing a systematic and analytical approach to work is essential, along with the capability to maintain business relationships and networks.

The position is full time and permanent, and located in Helsinki city center, with some travel expected in Finland and in the Nordics.

Requirements: 

  • Suitable education, such as M.Sc. degree (finance, technical or legal) or equivalent
  • A few years’ experience in corporate finance, private equity, real estate transactions or consulting within the real estate sector
  • Strong financial modelling skills (Excellent knowledge of Excel in particular)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and written and verbal Finnish and English (working knowledge of Swedish is advantageous)
  • A curious and strategic mindset and the ability to perform under tight timetables

Alma Property Partners I (€130m)

Alma Property Partners I is a close-ended value-add/opportunistic real estate fund focused on making property investments across all types of property sectors in the Nordic Region. The fund has 10 investments with assets in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway. The fund is expected to deliver in line with its original plan, i.e. a gross leveraged IRR of 18-20%. The fund is fully invested.

Alma Property Partners II (€255m)

Alma Property Partners II is a close-ended value-add/opportunistic real estate fund focused on making property investments across all types of property sectors in the Nordic Region. The fund has 9 investments and is fully committed.

Alma Property Partners III (€345m)

Alma Property Partners III is a close-ended value-add/opportunistic real estate fund focused on making property investments across all types of property sectors in the Nordic Region. The fund will seek investment opportunities that will deliver a gross leveraged IRR of 18-20%. The fund is investing actively and has invested ca. 10% of its equity.
