SHS corona safety measures based on the authorities recommendations

The Executive Board is constantly following the development of the COIVD-19 virus in Finland. Statistics regarding the corona situation in Helsinki has experienced significant spikes during September and October.
As of last week, Helsinki University Hospital (HUS)facilitated new recommendations not to organise events or gatherings with over 20 participants. In addition, the Finnish government is setting new recommendations regarding restaurants and bars. Opening hours will be restricted starting from October 1st.

Please do not visit the Student Union premises for 14 days if you have have received a notification from the Corona-app regarding possible exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
The Finnish Institute of health and welfare updated their recommendations on September 24th regarding the use of face masks. “During periods when the coronavirus epidemic is accelerating, the use of face masks is recommended not only on public transport, but also in other public spaces and events where close contacts cannot always be avoided.”
The university sent out an info email to all students on September 23 to inform students that Hanken has provided all attending students with a reusable face mask. The face masks can be picked up at the IB-bookstore. Hanken strongly recommends the use of face masks when on University property. This includes during in-class teaching, examination, service situations, lunch and in other situations when one is not able to ensure a safe distance.
SHS safety measures in this situation regarding events:
- SHS does not organize any parties or large events until further notice
- Before an event is to be organized a safety plan must be put in place and sent to the Executive Board for approval
- SHS recommends to organize alcohol free, smaller and outside events, as well as online activities
- There are face masks available at the Student Union, if you wish to use one when you visit our facilities
