Expression of interest for the SHS Delegation to the SYL General Assembly
SYL, the National Union of University Students in Finland, is a student organization representing about 140 000 students in Finland. All university student unions in Finland are members of SYL, which means that SHS is also a member of SYL.
SYL exists to monitor the voice of students in society. Everything related to students’ health, well-being, housing, financial situation and education is included in the advocacy work of SYL and its members. SYL also has a global responsibility and places great emphasis on sustainability, internationalization and development cooperation.
SYL will hold its General Assembly on November 15-16, 2024 in Helsinki. The General Assembly is SYL’s highest decision-making body and decides, among other things, on the union’s policy document, operational plan and the future SYL Board. SHS has three (3) delegate seats and three (3) alternate seats. Register your interest in serving as a SHS delegate with a freely formulated, brief letter of motivation to ansokan@shs.fi no later than September 9.
