Sampo plc is looking for an analytical and insurance business oriented (Senior) Controller to strengthen its Group Control team. 

The Group Control team provides high-quality management reporting, forecasts and financial planning, solvency reporting, market analyses, and investment reporting for Sampo Group. As a (Senior) Controller, you will play an important role in combining and analyzing information and creating a narrative around them, working with databases and developing reporting systems. You’ll contribute in providing professional reporting, forecasts and presentations to the top-management and the board of directors of Sampo Group. Additionally, you will act as a link between different functions and parts of the Sampo Group and within Sampo plc. In the Senior-level role, you will also take more responsibility in the development projects of the Group Control function.

This position is ideal for a person who is genuinely interested in the insurance business and has already relevant work experience within the insurance sector, from insurance, audit or consulting companies. In addition to strong analytical skills, the ideal candidate is development oriented and active in sharing opinions. You can join the team as a Controller or Senior Controller depending on the level of your experience.

You are expected to have: 

  • Academic degree, such as MSc in Econ or MBA
  • Preferably +3-5 years’ work experience within the areas of financial controlling, consultancy, audit or equivalent in the insurance sector
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to create high-quality reports and presentations
  • Solid technical skills, such as SQL, Excel, and Power BI
  • Full working proficiency in English
  • Strong communication skills and a systematic working style

 Considered as an asset:

  • Knowledge of IFRS17 and Solvency II
  • Finnish language skills
  • Strong technical and data analysis skills

Practicalities:
This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly to Sampo plc. The position is wished to be started as soon as possible in Q4 of 2024. You’ll work at Sampo HQ in central Helsinki with a hybrid model.
