SEB – International Trainee Programme 2024, Investment Banking Trainee

SEB’s International Trainee Programme is a unique way to kick-start your career! You will be hired for permanent employment that begins with the International Trainee Programme. In Finland, the position for 2024 is within our Investment Banking business area. This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, develop your skills, and discover your strengths while exploring the world of Investment Banking.
The International Trainee Programme starts in September 2024 and runs for 9 months. During the programme, practical work is combined with training to provide you with the best possible conditions for development and an exciting career within SEB. The programme is divided into different parts, including work in your home team, participating in a business challenge, self-driven activities, as well as learning and networking activities. You will also have the opportunity to do an internship abroad at another SEB office for up to four weeks after completing the trainee programme. During the 9-month-long programme your home team will be Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”). Additionally, you will conduct rotations in other Investment Banking desks in the Helsinki office to build a holistic view on the business and the operating environment. After the programme, you will continue working in one of the teams within SEB’s Investment Banking business area.
DCM has responsibility for origination, structuring, execution, and syndication of a wide range of debt-related products, including public bonds, private placements, liability management and asset-backed securities issued by corporates, financial institutions and SSA (Supranationals, Sovereigns, Agencies) clients. Since the inception of the Green Bond market in 2008, SEB DCM has maintained a globally leading position in the ESG space, and a significant number of debt transactions are currently structured with a sustainability element. The DCM team is both local and global with professionals working in multiple locations across Northern Europe depending on their coverage responsibilities with a coverage hub in Stockholm. You will be part of a team located in Helsinki covering large corporate clients in Finland and in the Baltic region. Our coverage spans both Investment Grade and High Yield corporate issuers, with a key focus on ESG-linked funding.
