SHS updated guidelines to contain the spread of covid-19 18.03.2020
The Student Union at Hanken School of Economics undertook 13.3 measures in line with the Finnish authorities’ recommendations to contain the spread of covid-19. Since then, the situation has changed and so has the authorities’ instructions and therefore SHS is updating its guidelines for the current situation.
The government of Finland declared on Monday the 16th of March that there is a state of emergency in Finland. The government has banned events and gatherings of over 10 people, and has advised to avoid unnecessary staying in public places. The government’s new measures will be in effect until the 13th of April. In line with these measures, Hanken is also closing its doors until the 13th of April and students are no longer allowed to visit Hanken’s premises until the before mentioned date.
SHS follows the guidelines of the authorities and Hanken. This means that the measures already put in place by SHS are extended until the 13th of April and might even be extended further should the situation change. The Student Union remains closed and all events arranged by SHS or its sub-organisations are cancelled until the 13th of April. The Executive Board of SHS and its employees will continue to work remotely during this time. SHS is continuously monitoring the situation, information from the authorities and Hanken and will update its guidelines if necessary.
