Expression of interest for SHS delegation to FSF union meeting

FSF, the Finnish Student Union, is a student organization representing approximately 140,000 students in Finland. All student unions at universities in Finland are members of FSF. This means that SHS is also a member of FSF.

FSF exists to represent the voice of students in society. Everything related to students’ health, well-being, housing, financial situation, and education is part of the advocacy work that FSF and its members are involved in. As an organization, the FSF also has a global responsibility and focuses heavily on sustainability, internationalization, and development cooperation.

The FSF will hold its union meeting on November 14-15 in Espoo. The union meeting is the FSF’s highest decision-making body and decides, among other things, on the union’s policy documents, action plan, and the future FSF board. SHS has three (3) delegate seats and three (3) alternate seats. If you are interested in serving as an SHS delegate, please send a brief, freely worded letter of motivation to ansokan@shs.fi by September 28 at the latest. The board will propose the composition of the delegation, which will be decided by the council at its meeting on October 8.

If you have any questions regarding the union meeting or expressing interest, please contact Viktor Byskata, the board member responsible for higher education policy, at viktor.byskata@shs.fi.
