Do you have experience in the financial or mining sector and the ability to manage large entities? Would you like to help Finnish companies achieve success that benefits society as a whole? Finnvera is now looking for a Finance Manager to join its team of experts, maybe just you?
In the interesting role of Financial Manager, you will work mainly on financing projects in the mining sector abroad. As you gain experience, you will work as a project manager on projects, identifying the suitability of Finnvera’s financial services for the projects’ needs and assembling a team of Finnvera experts to take the projects forward. In addition to Finnvera’s other finance managers, environmental experts, lawyers and analysts, your key stakeholders will include international banks and financial institutions and export customers, and you will act as a focal point for both internal and external stakeholders, communicating and ensuring the progress of projects. You will offer your insight at project meetings and, together with your team, prepare presentation materials to support funding decisions. As mining projects are mainly located abroad, the role will involve a few missions abroad to borrower sites with other experts on an annual basis.
If you have some previous experience in the financial sector and are eager to expand your skills in a varied and challenging role, you may be just what Finnvera is looking for. You may have worked as an analyst or in corporate finance, for example, but other financial experience will also help you succeed in this role. You will not be expected to be a finance project specialist, as we will provide you with a very comprehensive introduction to the role and the project phases. Knowledge or experience in the mining sector is definitely an advantage, but you will be supported by your colleagues in your role. Due to the long duration of the projects, you may be working on financial projects in other sectors at the same time. To be successful, you will need to be able to take several projects forward at the same time, working as part of a team and with the mentality of success.
In this permanent position, you will be employed directly by Finnvera. You will start as soon as possible or as agreed. The work will be done primarily from the Ruoholahti office in Helsinki as part of a flexible hybrid model.
The applicant is expected to:
An appropriate postgraduate degree in a technology or business. You may already have graduated or be in the final stages of your studies.
Previous experience in finance and ability to learn the principles of project finance
Project management skills and the ability to manage several projects at the same time
Perseverance and interest in working as part of a team promoting long-term and international projects
Excellent oral and written communication skills in Finnish and English
Considered for your benefit:
