SEB Equal Opportunity Campaign, Entreprenorm
Did you know that most companies in Sweden are owned by men? We at SEB want to change
the entreprenorm and support equal entrepreneurship.
SEB is a leading Nordic financial services group, founded in 1856 in Sweden. In Finland we have been since 1984 and currently we are about 280 colleagues working at our activity-based office in Eteläesplanadi. In Finland our operations have a strong focus on corporate and investment banking in addition to private banking and corporate card services. Our customers are large corporates, institutional clients, and private individuals. We offer a wide range of services, but equally we are an advisor and sparring partner for both our corporate and private customers.
We take responsibility for how we conduct our business and how we affect our customers, employees, shareholders and society at large. As a corporate citizen we are committed to support initiatives that contribute to a positive development of society within innovation, environment, diversity and equality. At SEB, gender equality and equal opportunity are important topics, which have been emphasized for several years. As an example, SEB in Finland works with Women’s Career Society (WCS), to close the gender gap in specialist and leadership positions by empowering, inspiring and uniting female business students.
In addition, for fourth year in a row, we have a global campaign that aims to support gender equality. To contribute to a greater gender equality, this year’s campaign “Entreprenorm” is focused on equal entrepreneurship. Equal entrepreneurship is an important and topical subject, as only 30% of companies in Sweden are owned by women. This is partly due to norms and biases that prevent women from accessing networks and funding. At SEB, we want to change the entreprenorm.
